Tansey earns Hatters point

Substitute Greg Tansey rescued a point for Stockport at home to Torquay as he lashed home a cracking goal just three minutes after coming on to seal a 1-1 draw. Torquay went close after seven minutes when Eunan O'Kane pounced on a defensive mix-up between Mansour Assoumani and Anthony Pulis, but the Irishman's shot flew just over the top. The hosts were then saved by the woodwork in the 19th minute. Kevin Nicholson floated over a perfect cross for Joe Oastler, but his header hit the post. At the other end George Donnelly saw a curling shot well saved by Scott Bevan, but Torquay again went close when O'Kane skipped past two defenders before crashing a 20-yard shot just wide. Torquay went in front just after the hour mark. O'Kane pounced from close range after Ashley Hemmings' low, angled shot bounced back out off the post. Stockport sub Tansey levelled it up with 16 minutes to go as he lashed home clinically from 25 yards for his second goal in as many games.
