Oastler boost for Gulls

Torquay may be boosted by the fresh face of QPR midfielder Joe Oastler for their trip to Crewe. The 20-year-old has been allowed to train with the Gulls by Hoops boss Neil Warnock and a one-month loan deal could well be struck ahead of the clash at Gresty Road. Oastler`s potential arrival would bring much-needed cover for boss Paul Buckle who was told last week by the club`s board that he will be working under a restricted playing budget for the time being at least. Midfielder Damon Lathrope continues to miss out due to the ankle injury he sustained against Aldershot at the end of September. Buckle rested first-team regulars Scott Bevan, Guy Branston, Kevin Nicholson, Chris Zebroski and Danny Stevens for Tuesday`s Johnstone`s Paint Trophy defeat at Swindon but all five are expected to come back in as Torquay look to end an eight-game winless run. The Devon outfit have scored just three times during that barren spell and striker Billy Kee did his chances of a start no harm at all with an impressive display at Swindon in midweek.
