Torquay midfielder Saul Halpin has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club for a further three years. The 18-year-old worked his way through United's college set-up and youth team before signing his first professional contract last season, although he is yet to make his senior debut. However, manager Paul Buckle was quick to praise Halpin, telling the club's official website: "We have extended Saul's contract and he is now committed to the club for a further three years which is fantastic. "The special thing about Saul is his age. He has come back looking very bright. He can go past people and has already upset a few of the senior players."
