Gulls rocked in home defeat
Macclesfield notched their second league win of the season thanks to two goals in as many second-half minutes to triumph 3-1 at Torquay.
Ross Draper thumped in a 76th-minute volley to make it 2-1 and then striker Emile Sinclair went solo from the halfway line before slotting in a brilliant third goal to make it 3-1 in the 78th minute.
Hamza Bencherif's bolt out of the blue for the Blues rocked Torquay after 12 minutes. The home side, who gave a home debut to right back Danny Senda, had held sway for the opening spell with striker Chris Zebroski smashing a rising shot off the upright in the fifth minute.
But when Senda's pass failed to reach team-mate Lee Mansell, Town midfielder Bencherif pounced to let fly with a 25-yard shot that flew in.
It was the first home league goal the Gulls have conceded this term and parity was restored following a flowing five-man move in the 40th minute as the home side piled on the pressure.
Chris Robertson and Kevin Nicholson started a move that ended with Eunan O'Kane providing the final pass for last season's top scorer Elliot Benyon to convert from close range.
