Gulls receive Ellis boost

Torquay defender Mark Ellis has been given the all-clear after X-rays showed he had not broken any bones in his foot. Ellis limped out of the Saturday's goalless draw against Stevenage and feared he had severely damaged his right foot. But Gulls physio Damien Davey revealed the extent of the injury is not as bad as first feared. "At the moment, the X-ray is all-clear. Sometimes early X-rays don't always show some things but it looks like bone bruising and soft-tissue trauma," he told "It'll be rest, ice and elevation for Mark and, hopefully, the injury calms down. We'll probably keep him off the foot until Thursday and take it from there." Striker Elliot Benyon is also fully fit after recovering from a niggling knee problem and came off the bench at Stevenage.
