Gulls boosted by Ellis return

Torquay are set to be boosted by the return of fit-again central defender Mark Ellis as they seek to bounce back from two home defeats when they travel to Shrewsbury. Ellis has recovered from a foot injury that forced him to miss Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Macclesfield and kept him on the bench throughout Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Aldershot. Midfielder Damon Lathrope (ankle) debuted in the game against the Shots but was forced to leave the field during the early stages. Lathrope was replaced by Wayne Carlisle but returning skipper Nicky Wroe is expected to take Lathrope's place in the starting XI on Saturday. Torquay have not won in five league matches with their last victory coming on August 28 when they secured an away win at Port Vale.
