Gulls at full strength

Torquay boss Paul Buckle has a fully-fit squad to choose from for the club's opening fixture of the season at home to Northampton. Midfielder Lee Mansell and forward Chris Zebroski were taken off in the Gulls' final pre-season match against Yeovil last Saturday but this was just to give the duo a much-needed rest. Nine players have left Plainmoor over the summer including Lee Hodges, Tyrone Thompson and Steve Adams as Buckle sought to rebuild the squad following last season's 17th place finish. However, the United ranks have been swelled by the recruitment of Martin Gritton, Billy Kee, Guy Branston, Damon Lathrope, Lloyd Macklin and Danny Potter. All the new boys will be hoping they have impressed sufficiently in pre-season to be included in the starting XI for the match against Ian Sampson's Cobblers, who finished just five points outside the play-off places last term.
