Gritton blow for Gulls

Torquay will be without Martin Gritton when they face Reading in the Carling Cup first round. The striker was substituted after 63 minutes of Saturday's 3-0 home win over Northampton after suffering a gashed leg and he is expected to be out for a few weeks. Billy Kee came on for Gritton at the weekend and he will be pushing for a start against the Royals. Other than Gritton's absence Gulls manager Paul Buckle has a fully-fit squad to choose from. Forward duo Elliot Benyon and Chris Zebroski both opened their goalscoring account against the Cobblers and will be full of confidence going into the match at Plainmoor. Summer signings Guy Branston, Damon Lathrope, Danny Potter were named as substitutes but did not get on so will be hoping to play some part in the encounter with Brian McDermott's Championship side.
