Clough sings Halpin`s praises
Torquay winger Saul Halpin has made a big impression on Derby boss Nigel Clough after bagging a hat-trick for the reserves while on trial.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Gulls' youth set-up and hit a treble in County's 7-1 win over Nottingham Forest reserves.
"To score a hat-trick in any football is good but we were as impressed with the goal he made second half, when he went past two or three defenders and set up Tomasz Cywka," Clough told the Derby Telegraph.
"We will have a chat with (Torquay manager) Paul Buckle and see what their thoughts are on him."
Halpin, who has made four subsitute appearances for Torquay, recently signed a three-year contract extension with the club.
