Buckle: We got caught out

Torquay manager Paul Buckle was left to rue a little bit a naivety from his side after they threw away a two-goal advantage to eventually draw 3-3 with struggling Burton. The Gulls were 2-0 up inside the opening 14 minutes at the Pirelli Stadium through goals from Chris Zebroski and Gavin Tomlin. But the Brewers hit back to lead 3-2, meaning the visitors needed a goal from substitute Billy Kee to snatch a point. Buckle refused to criticise his promotion-chasing side, despite the draw seeing them drop out of the top seven, although still within touching distance of Gillingham, Stevenage and Accrington. Buckle said: "We showed for the whole of the game our attacking prowess and why we're at the right end of the league table. We've caused teams a lot of problems with our attacking play and we were excellent again. "The problem came when we were 2-0 up. We got over-zealous in our approach and got caught out bombing upfield. We didn't really need to be doing that because we were in total control of the game. We created even more chances and could have been three or four-nil up, but it just shows that if you come out of your slots you can get picked off. "But I'm not going to be critical of individuals because they've all been outstanding for me. The very fact we're in this position fighting for promotion is a great credit to all the team. We played some excellent football in what was a very entertaining game for the neutral. It shows how far we've come that we're disappointed with a point away from home."
