Buckle staying positive

Torquay boss Paul Buckle believes his side is moving in the right direction, despite losing ground on the teams in the play-off places following the 1-0 defeat at Aldershot. Shots midfielder Luke Guttridge netted his sixth goal of the season early in the second half to condemn the Gulls to defeat. "We've just fallen a bit short and congratulations to Dean and his team on their victory but certainly they didn't meet us at our best," said Buckle. "I thought that in the first half we were controlling the game well with the ball. We just let ourselves down with our final pass or maybe we were trying to force it rather than trying to make another pass and open Aldershot up. "As the game wore on it looked like it had a draw written all over it and in the end we've sort of switched off from a second phase from a corner and we've paid the price. "We set really high standards but it just proves that we have to be at our very best at this level to win games. We're going in the right direction and you can see why we've won games this season."
