Paul Buckle has been rewarded for Torquay's flying start to the season after being named npower League Two manager of the month. The Gulls won all four of their league matches in August, conceding just one goal in the process, and were the only club in the Football League to maintain a 100% league record throughout the month. The Devon club have since been dislodged at the top of the table after losing to Shrewsbury last weekend but they are still sitting pretty in second spot. Buckle said: "This award is testament to all the hard work put in by the players, backroom staff and everyone connected with the club. "It is lovely to be rewarded in this way and I am extremely proud to pick up the npower League Two manager of the month trophy." The Gulls boss beat off competition from Shrewsbury`s Graham Turner, Rotherham's Ronnie Moore and John Sheridan of Chesterfield to pick up the award.
