Buckle goes easy on Gulls

Torquay manager Paul Buckle put his side's 3-1 home defeat to lowly Macclesfield down to "one of those days". Hamza Bencherif's opener was cancelled out by Torquay's Elliot Benyon, but Ross Draper thumped in a 76th-minute volley and then striker Emile Sinclair went solo from the halfway line before slotting in a brilliant third. Buckle said: "We are obviously disappointed, but we are not going to get too down about it. We will brush ourselves down and hopefully put it right on Tuesday night at home to Aldershot. "Things did not go our way and you have to expect that in football. It was just one of those days. I don't know how the attempts on target went but it seemed that everything they hit went in. "When the lad smashed it in from long range from the opener, when we tried passing across our own goal, that gave them the leg up they were looking for. We got back into the game and I then thought we would go on from there. "I honestly believe - and its no disrespect to Macclesfield - that if we had got the second goal then we would have gone on and won the game but we did gift them a couple of goals."
