Toronto FC beat Seattle Sounders in MLS

Toronto FC exacted some revenge on Seattle Sounders with a 1-0 win.

Toronto were beaten by Sounders in the MLS Cup last season, but got the three points thanks to Jozy Altidore's first-half penalty, which keeps them top of the Eastern Conference.

The remain in front of Orlando City, who were thumped 4-0 by Houston Dynamo.

Mauros Manotas scored a brace while Alberth Elis and Romell Quito also bagged for the Dynamo.

Philadelphia Union finally had something to cheer as CJ Sapong hit an 11-minute hat-trick to down New York Red Bulls.

Sapong struck three times during a hot second-half period to end a 15-game winless run for Union.

Columbus Crew beat New England Revolution 2-0, FC Dallas were 3-0 winners against Real Salt Lake City and Montreal Impact edged out DC United 1-0.

The San Jose Quakes felled the Portland Timbers 3-0, while struggling LA Galaxy came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Chicago Fire.
