Sebastian Giovinco scored a nine-minute hat-trick to earn Toronto a 4-4 draw with MLS opponents New York City.

David Villa gave City the lead and Damien Perquis' own goal made it 2-0 before the half-hour mark - however, Italy's Giovinco turned the game on its head between the 34th and the 43rd minute.

Villa netted his second goal of the game from the penalty spot to level the scores and although Marky Delgado appeared to have won it for Toronto eight minutes from time - Patrick Mullins' goal two minutes later made sure of parity.

The result leaves Toronto third in the Eastern Conference, 11 points behind leaders DC United with four games in hand. City are second from bottom.
