Torino eye Niculae swoop

Serie A club Torino are planning to try and sign Inverness Caledonian Thistle's Romania striker Marius Niculae this summer.

The 26-year-old was recently part of the Romania squad for the European Championships, having scored ten goals in 38 appearances for the Highlanders last season.

Torino president Urbano Cairo told the Daily Record: "Niculae is a target for us this summer as we look to strengthen our attacking options.

"I think we are a club that the player himself would be interested in joining.

"I plan to speak with his club and after the European Championships we hope the situation will be a lot clearer."
