Cairo hails improving Torino

Torino president Urbano Cairo remains confident his side will be able to avoid relegation and maintain their Serie A status this season.

The relegation six-pointer against Chievo Verona at the weekend ended 1-1, but Cairo thinks that could be a crucial point in the final analysis.

"We must continue working in this way," he said. "It's been four games in a row that we have not lost and being just three points away from survival means winning one game.

"We must be super motivated to do well, continue to obtain points and small points. We're improving, as we have lost too many points before.

"In Milan against the league leaders (Inter) we played a great game, now let's move forward."

Torino have won only four of their 23 Serie A games so far this season but remain just three points away from safety.
