The Denmark striker picked up an injury after catching Angel Rangel's boot with his face, as Sunderland beat Swansea 2-0 on January 21.
It initially appeared to be a broken nose, but it turned out to be a more complicated ailment and manager Martin O'Neill bemoaned the loss of his star striker.
Fitted up: Nicklas Bendtner's new protective gear
But thanks to his new face gear, the striker could return to action sooner rather than later - albeit not against Arsenal on Saturday as he is currently on loan from the Emirates.
'I don't look near as cool as Batman', the striker admitted on Twitter. 'But at least I can play again.'
And at last, Bendtner is right. He is one of the best strikers in the world (currently wearing a face-mask).
