Great Britain defender Ifeoma Dieke is to undergo a scan on the knee injury she suffered in the 3-0 win over Cameroon, women's football coach Hope Powell has confirmed.
The Scotland international was stretchered off in the second half at the Millennium Stadium after going down in a battle for possession with Cameroon substitute Ajara Nchout. And Powell confirmed that the 31-year-old's injury will need to be assessed to determine its severity.
She said: "Ifeoma looked to be in some discomfort and we are going to get her scanned, we are sorting that out now and we just need to wait and see on that one."
Powell also confirmed that striker Kelly Smith and midfielder Anita Asante will be fit for Tuesday's Wembley meeting with Brazil, after the pair were withdrawn as a precaution.
Goals from captain Casey Stoney, Jill Scott and Steph Houghton, the heroine of the opening win over New Zealand, sealed a comfortable victory which books Great Britain's place in the quarter-finals with one Group E game to spare.
But there were moments of real concern for Powell thanks to some agricultural tackling from their African opponents, with defender Christine Manie and substitute Bibi Medoua particularly fortunate to escape with only bookings for wild challenges on Smith and Alex Scott.
Powell stopped short of accusing Cameroon of deliberately attempting to rough up her side, but admitted she was less than impressed by some of the tackles.
She said: "I think most of the tackles were more clumsy than anything, I don't think it was deliberate. One thing I said to the girls beforehand was to expect a physical challenge and to expect that the refereeing decisions might not go their way.
"I thought that from watching the men against Senegal the other night, they had a tough encounter and you felt the referee was looking to let the game flow and we expected that tonight and the girls did well to try and get back up and get on with it.
"We tried to keep the ball moving to protect the players, some decisions were not in our favour but most of them have come off unscathed, I am sure there are a few knocks and bruises and we will have to get our recovery strategy right ahead of our next game."
