"It is also wrong to suggest that the members of MyFC ever picked the team. "

Non-League Rich - Ebbsfleet experiment ends in tears
"There are some inaccuracies in your reporting. First, it was over 31,000 members paying L35 that purchased the club. Second, saying that 800 members paid in March is confusing at best. There are over 8000 members still at MYFC, however that number is projected downwards. The income stream for the club is such that there is a general renewal in February, however, member also renew at different times, so the income is always coming in. Your reporting seems to indicate that there are only 800 members left that have paid and now one else is paying. So which is it? And third, that the decline of Ebbsfleet can be traced to the MYFC takeover, again is false. Ebbsfleet was in hundreds of thousands of pounds in debt at that point. MYFC came in and paid off those debts. Subsequently, there were mistakes by everyone from the MYFC members on down where the advantage of winning the FA trophy was squandered. This season was begun with a smaller budget and the results show it. But the club has not major debt. If relegation is confirmed after June, the club will start with a smaller budget, a large pool of MYFC members to draw money from and again, no debt. That's more than you can say for all the clubs in Blue Square Premier. You say you were surprised at Forest Green? Weren't you paying attention to THEIR finances? That said, I'm very saddened to see the club go down and am sorry that I was a part of that. But, this is football. Teams get relegated and promoted all the time. This club is NOT in administration. It's finances are not the greatest, but it will come back."
