Steve von Bergen is expected to replace ankle injury victim Philippe Senderos in Switzerland's defence for the World Cup Group H match with Chile, while skipper Alex Frei has resumed training after shaking of a similar problem.

Chile striker Humberto Suazo, who missed their impressive victory over Honduras, has resumed training and could be involved alongside midfielder Jorge Valdivia who is hopeful of shaking off a knock picked up against the Central Americans.

"Every single player knows Monday will require another top performance on our part and that we cannot take anything for granted," said Switzerland boss Ottmar Hitzfeld, whose side produced the shock of the tournament so far by beating European champions Spain 1-0 in their opening match.

"Of course, against Spain, you can dream, and then the dream became a reality. Against Chile, we have got different aspirations because they are a direct competitor to us in securing second position."

Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa has dismissed Hitzfeld's claim his side head into the clash at the Nelson Mandela Stadium as favourites.

"In this World Cup, if there is something that is not allowed, it is to believe you know who will win," he said.

"Normally, there are no favourites in this competition, and even less so in this than any other World Cup."
