No fear for Djourou

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou is looking forward to pitting his wits against Andriy Shevchenko when Switzerland play Ukraine on Monday for the right to feature in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

The 19-year-old will be making only his second start for his country after Philippe Senderos was ruled out of the tournament after dislocating his shoulder in the 2-0 victory against South Korea.

Djourou, who has made only six Premiership starts for the Gunners, came on for Senderos in Friday's win and is confident he will not let his team-mates down.

"As far as the team goes, it is just one player coming in to replace another," he said.

"I think I have already demonstrated my ability to play at this level so I'm feeling very cool and just looking forward to playing.

"I don't think there's a particular way to cope with Shevchenko. I know he's a great player but it's important for me just to play my game and relax. If I was scared about facing him, then it would only make things easier for Ukraine."
