Henchoz ends Latics stay

Wigan Athletic boss Paul Jewell has reluctantly decided to release former Liverpool star Stephane Henchoz as he begins his preparations for next season.
The veteran Switzerland international moved to the JJB Stadium last summer and formed a solid central defensive partnership with Arjan de Zeeuw as the Latics enjoyed a successful season.
"It was a tough decision, but I've just thought for next season we will try something different," admitted Jewell.
"Stephane has played a major part in our season, in particular at the start of the season when his experience was crucial. He has been an absolute model professional."
