Wilson braced for Cox exit

Swindon Town boss Danny Wilson has all but admitted that leading scorer Simon Cox will leave the League One club this summer.

The 22-year-old scored 32 goals in all competitions for the Robins this season, alerting a number of higher-division clubs to his undoubted potential.

Wilson told the Evening Advertiser: "I'll be disappointed if he does leave, but I'm a realist, I think it's a good chance it will happen.

"I'm hoping that nobody fancies him, but that's being a bit unrealistic I think.

"If nothing's happened by the end of July or August, I'd be very surprised if Simon won't be signing a new contract with us.

"I don't think for one minute that Simon wants to just see his contract out and leave."
