Swindon Town are hoping to keep hold of loan striker Simon Cox at least until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old Reading forward has netted eight goals in 20 appearances for the Robins and the League One club are keen to extend his loan or even broker a permanent deal.
Joint caretaker boss Ady Williams told the Evening Advertiser: "Simon has been outstanding for us since he has arrived and we would love to keep him permanently, if not until the end of the season at least.
"Enquiries have been made and the two clubs are speaking.
"Simon, Reading and ourselves would like to come to an agreement sooner rather than later, but unfortunately these things take longer than anticipated."
