Robins reveal fine ticket figures
The combination of a disappointing campaign battling relegation last year and effects of the recession on the local community, including the four-month closure of Swindon's Honda factory, had led to fears that the Robins would witness a slow uptake from supporters. However, the club has already passed the 4,000 mark, with Watkins already eyeing the board's preliminary target of 4,600 sales. He told the Swindon Advertiser: "We have now passed 4,000 season ticket sales which is an important landmark. We want to move on and get to 4,600, but it is tough in this economic climate. "However, Honda have gone back to work which is a little bit of good news for the Swindon community, and hopefully that may have a knock-on effect for us. "Add to that the new signings that Danny Wilson is making and we are confident of reaching that total."
