Pools recovery stuns Cox

Swindon Town striker Simon Cox had mixed feelings after his side's 3-3 draw at Hartlepool United on Friday evening.

The 21-year-old score his first-ever senior hat-trick as the Robins roared into a three-goal lead, but the home side then recovered to earn a point to leave Cox slightly subdued.

He told the Swindon Advertiser: "I would have taken one goal and a 1-0 win.

"We absolutely dominated for an hour, then it came down to sloppy defending as a team and an individual mistake. It's hard to take, but that's the luck we have been having lately.

"That was one of best games we have played, but half-time came at a bad time for us.

"We gave three sloppy goals away, but we still came away with a point and we have to take the positives from that.

"We came up here to win and our away record has been very good. We should have got three points."
