Malpas revels in derby win

Swindon Town boss Maurice Malpas admitted his side rode their luck on their way to a 1-0 win at Swindon Town on Tuesday.

Simon Cox gave the resurgent Robins their third win in four games in the West Country derby at the Memorial Stadium.

"It was a poor game on a poor pitch, but we got the result and we are delighted with it," admitted Malpas.

"We rode out luck at times, but that's football. We shut up shop after the goal and we were nice and tight.

"It's nice to play well and the most important thing was to win for our supporters. They can brag about another win and we are all delighted with the victory.

"With two games to go of the season we have to try to keep that winning mentality going."
