Lucas blow for Robins

Published: 09 Aug 2010 - 14:30:33

Swindon goalkeeper David Lucas is unlikely to return in time for the Carling Cup first-round visit of Leyton Orient.Lucas missed Saturday`s disappointing opening-day defeat to Brighton with a thigh strain and looks set to miss out again, meaning Phil Smith should continue between the sticks with Jacub Jesionkowski on the bench.Summer signings Simon Ferry and Paul Caddis were named as substitutes against the Seagulls but could well get a chance to impress from the off versus Town`s League One rivals.Striker Vincent Pericard and midfielders Alan O'Brien and Michael Timlin also found themselves starting on the bench at the weekend and could force themselves into the fray.Pericard sustained bruising to a knee during his second-half substitute appearance but should be fine.
