Swindon Town boss Paul Sturrock concluded a busy loan deadline day at the County Ground by adding four players to his promotion-chasing squad.

Earlier in the day, Sturrock signed Dave Partridge on an initial one-month loan from Bristol City.

The Robins also landed Nottingham Forest striker Kevin James on loan until the end of the season.

French defender Claude Gnapka signed until the end of the campaign having previously played in Spain with Alaves and Racing Santander.

Meanwhile, young Manchester City striker Ashley Grimes has joined the League Two side on an initial one-month loan contract.

Earlier in the week, Sturrock also landed Sheffield Wednesday striker Barry Corr on loan until the end of the season.

"We won't sign players just to fill jerseys, we want to bring in players who will play in the first team," Sturrock had told the club's official website.

"The players that come in will know that if they do well for us we will contemplate them for next season, but they have to prove themselves."
