Swindon have confirmed that head of player development David Byrne has left the club with immediate effect.Byrne has been caretaker manager, assistant manager and head of youth during his time at the County Ground but has recently expressed a desire to return to front line management. Chairman Andrew Fitton said: "Since I became involved at the club `Budgie' has served the club in a range of important capacities."I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for his tireless contribution and loyalty. He has a keen eye for identifying and developing young football talent and the board wish him every success with his future career."Byrne said: "In many ways I am sad to leave but at the same time I am excited about the prospect of returning to a management and coaching role."
