Wilson targets Ritchie deal

Swindon boss Danny Wilson has confirmed the club are in advanced talks with Portsmouth over turning Matt Ritchie's loan deal at the County Ground into a permanent transfer. 21-year-old winger Ritchie, who is at the moment due to return to Fratton Park on January, 4, has impressed for the Robins since joining from Pompey in October scoring twice in 15 appearances. Wilson told the Swindon Advertiser: "We haven't put a bid in as such yet (for Ritchie) but we are speaking to them (Portsmouth). I don't think it's been finalised yet but it is about a permanent move." On other possible January dealings, he added: "We've got a couple of priorities. We need another striker and we need a defender to come in and supplement us. Possibly we also could do with a midfield player or a wide player. "Whichever we can afford and whichever becomes available we are going to have to try and do one of those positions. But we certainly need one or two to come in, and if that means one or two players going out then it will have to happen because we need to put some momentum together."
