Wilson fumes at transfer gossip
Swindon boss Danny Wilson has hit out at clubs and agents who try to use media outlets to pressure prospective transfer targets.
Wilson was angered by stories linking Robins striker Charlie Austin with a move to npower Championship side Millwall, who then had a bid for the striker rejected on transfer deadline day.
"We were very disappointed that it got into the papers," Wilson told BBC Radio Wiltshire. "To have someone try to unsettle Charlie and put it in the papers is amateurish."
He added: "Millwall were nowhere near our valuation. Why would we let an asset like that go?
"I don't know why people and clubs can't do their business properly and correctly instead of trying to upset players and put the thing public.
"If we say no, we say no. You've seen so many times when the player gets affected but thankfully and hopefully, Charlie's not like that."
