Wilson eyes window

Swindon manager Danny Wilson has already identified a small number of "key" positions which he intends to strengthen during the January transfer window. The Robins, who lost influential performers such as Billy Paynter and Gordon Greer over the summer, have been hit with their fair share of injuries and suspensions over the first 18 matches of the season. And if they are to repeat their play-off achievements of 2009/10 then they need to bolster their ranks during the forthcoming window to close the gap on the top six which already stands at eight points. Asked whether he already has priorities for January, Wilson told STFC Player: "Yes, of course we have, we need to have. We need to strengthen then if we`re going to kick on and give us that little bit of extra impetus which is very important. "There`s a couple of key areas in which we`ll try and fill. But there`s a lot of games prior to that so it`s important by the time the Christmas or New Year period comes long we`re in a good position in which to be challenging for those top-six spots." Meanwhile, the club`s groundstaff are working hard to ensure Saturday`s home clash against Sheffield Wednesday is given the best chance of getting the go-ahead, although weather conditions over the next 48 hours are sure to play a big part in any potential decision made."
