Swindon loanee Louis Thompson pushing for inclusion against Walsall

Swindon loanee Louis Thompson will be hoping to be included in the squad after being left out in their 5-1 loss to Fleetwood on Saturday.

Football League rules state that only five loanees are permitted in the match day squad, meaning manager Martin Ling had to leave him out.

The Robins currently have six players on loan so one of Thompson, Wes Thomas, Jordan Turnbull, Adam El-Abd, Lawrence Vigouroux and Ben Gladwin will miss out.

Swindon are currently stuck in the Sky Bet League One drop zone having won only one of their last 14 games in all competitions but Northern Ireland Under-21 centre forward Jordan Stewart is available after returning from international duty.

Walsall could be unchanged as they look to return to the top two in League One.

The Saddlers drew 1-1 with Sheffield United on Saturday after dropping out of the automatic promotion places but have a game in hand after their match with Shrewsbury was postponed due to international call-ups.

Sam Mantom (ankle) remains out while Isaiah Osbourne, who is yet to make his Walsall debut after signing in the summer, is continuing his recovery from a knee injury but is not match fit.

The Saddlers are unbeaten away from home in the league this season with their last defeat on the road coming in an 8-2 mauling at Bristol City on the final day of last term.
