Swindon duo Nathan Thompson and Jon Obika in race against time for Burton clash

Mark Cooper is hoping to welcome back duo Nathan Thompson and Jon Obika when his Swindon side host Burton.

Town captain Thompson (groin) has been out since August 22, he was initially expected to be out for two weeks, while striker Obika (foot) and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill (dead leg) will be assessed.

Robins midfielder Yaser Kasim, who retired from international duty with Iraq aged 24 this week, is battling for a starting place with Louis Thompson, who made a substitute appearance last week after re-joining the club on loan from Norwich.

Henrik Ojamaa impressed his manager on his debut, after getting international clearance and featuring from the bench against Barnsley and Jermaine Hylton is set for a scan to check on the progress of his collarbone.

Burton goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin is expected to recover from a dead leg to play.

McLaughlin was forced off with the injury midway through the first half of last weekend's win against Rochdale. The 28-year-old did not train on Monday but he has stepped up his progress throughout the week and should be fit for Saturday.

Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has options should he wish to make changes to his team, with Abdenasser El Khayati, Aurelien Joachim, Tom Naylor and Timmy Thiele strong contenders for recalls.

Darius Charles is making good progress in his recovery from a broken leg and the defender could be back in first-team contention next month but on-loan Wolves winger Zeli Ismail continues to struggle with a knee problem sustained during pre-season.
