Swindon record back-to-back wins

Walsall crashed to their seventh league and cup defeat as improving Swindon collected all three points with a 2-1 win at the Banks's Stadium. The Saddlers fell behind after only 10 minutes when David Prutton sent Alan Sheehan racing down the left and his low cross-shot took a deflection as it flew just inside the right-hand post. For a time, Swindon dominated the game and could have had further goals with Vincent Pericard sending one back heel against the post. But the Saddlers improved and Jon Macken headed over from a Ryan McGivern cross. Walsall dominated the second half but Swindon should have sealed their win in the 55th minute when a rebound put Thomas Dossevi clean through but goalkeeper Jonny Brain managed to block his shot. The hosts pushed forward relentlessly and were finally rewarded in the 70th minute. Macken's drive was blocked by Robins keeper David Lucas but the ball fell to substitute Reuben Reid and the on-loan West Brom striker hammered in his third goal for the club. Chris Hutchings` side went looking for the winner and defender Clayton McDonald saw his shot come back off a post but, while the home players were appealing for a penalty, Swindon hit on the break and Pericard deflected home Sheehan`s shot to snatch all three points.
