Swindon open Austin talks

Swindon hot-shot Charlie Austin is in talks with the Wiltshire club over a new contract. The 21-year-old has been a revelation since arriving from Poole Town last October, finding the net 30 times in just 53 appearances - his latest coming on Saturday to clinch a 2-1 victory over Colchester.

His sudden rise to stardom has attracted plenty of interested suitors, and both Town and Austin were happy to sign a two-year extension to the initial short-term deal as early ago as February. But Austin has revealed further talks are now underway regarding another new contract which he is keen to sign.

He told the Swindon Advertiser: "I'm talking to the club at the moment, seeing what they've got to say, and hopefully I can sort a few things out.

"I'm just enjoying my football here at Swindon. I've got to be loyal to my contract and I'm just working hard to get the club as far up the league as possible. It's a fantastic club who have given me a great opportunity. There are a lot of good people here and I am looking forward to playing my football here."

Meanwhile, the Robins` versatile Paul Caddis has called into Scotland`s senior squad for Tuesday's friendly against the Faroe Islands following a raft of withdrawals.
