Swindon storm back to stun Southend

Swindon came from two goals down to beat Southend 4-2 at the County Ground.

Tyrone Barnett and Adam Thompson fired the visiting Shrimpers into a commanding position but Nicky Ajose and Jon Obika both scored twice for the hosts to turn the game on its head.

The visitors made the most of some comical Swindon defending to take the lead in the sixth minute. Michael Timlin won possession off Drissa Traore and played in Barnett, who fired low past Lawrence Vigouroux.

Eight minutes later the hosts doubled their lead as Ben Coker swung in a free-kick from the right and Thompson rose to head home from inside the six-yard box.

Somehow, though, Swindon went into half-time level. Ajose pounced on a loose ball after Dan Bentley made a fine save in the 42nd minute, before Obika tucked home from Yaser Kasim's cross to equalise.

Obika put the Robins ahead in the 78th minute as the striker collected the ball on the halfway line, surged 40 yards and found Bentley's bottom left-hand corner.

Ajose added a fourth in stoppage time at the end of a swift counter-attack.
