Jon Obika double as Swindon sink Doncaster

Jon Obika scored both goals as Swindon secured their fourth successive League One victory with a 2-0 success over Doncaster at the County Ground.

Obika had not registered a goal since January 16 for the Robins but ended a seven-match drought by finding the net once in either half to extend Doncaster's winless run to nine matches.

The forward handed the hosts the lead on the stroke of half-time in controversial circumstances. At the end of a swift counter-attack, Michael Doughty headed Brad Barry's cross out of the reach of Thorsten Stuckmann in the Doncaster goal.

Obika flung himself at the ball from what looked like an offside position and got the final touch but referee Nicholas Kinseley allowed the goal to stand.

The striker doubled his team's tally in more convincing fashion with 25 minutes left. A wonderful, first-time pass from Fabien Robert sent the frontman through on goal and he finished with aplomb underneath Stuckmann.

Doncaster, who rarely tested home goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux, saw their miserable night compounded in the 78th minute when Richard Chaplow was sent off after collecting two yellow cards.
