Swindon lose 2-1 at home to Oldham under guidance of chairman Lee Power

Swindon were beaten for the eighth time in nine matches, as Oldham claimed a 2-1 victory at the County Ground.

Chairman Lee Power was in charge of the Robins, following the sacking of manager Mark Cooper on Saturday, but he could not inspire his side back to winning ways.

Mike Jones and Danny Philliskirk scored for the Latics either side of Nicky Ajose's strike for the home team.

Lawrence Vigouroux made two good saves early on - from Brian Wilson and Carl Winchester - but the Swindon goalkeeper could do little to prevent Jones firing the visitors into a 34th-minute lead with a fine finish from the edge of the box.

After the break, Raphael Branco cleared off the line from Michael Higdon following Vigouroux's initial stop, before Ajose netted with eight minutes remaining to seemingly save a point for Swindon.

However, within two minutes Oldham restored their advantage, as Philliskirk diverted home Daniel Lafferty's cross to hand the away side their first win since August 15.
