Luongo earns Robins their first win

Massimo Luongo presented Swindon with their first league win of the new season, scoring in the first half to beat Stevenage 1-0 at the County Ground.

The Tottenham loanee, one of six players on the Swindon books from the Spurs academy, beat Stevenage goalkeeper Steve Arnold with a left-foot shot from 20 yards in the 26th minute.

Arnold made an outstanding save in the 15th minute to deny Andy Williams and also kept out a header from Grant Hall as Swindon dominated the first half.

Darren Ward also missed a chance as Swindon went in at the break well on top. But it was a different story after the break as Stevenage boss Graham Westley sent on James Dunne in the 48th minute in place of injured Simon Heslop.

Greg Tansley should have levelled but with the goal at his mercy somehow managed to blaze over from ten yards.

Then Dani Lopez contrived to miss another headed opportunity for Stevenage in the 79th, completely missing the ball from four yards when a goal looked certain.
