Smith commits himself to Robins

The 29-year-old agreed terms to extend his stay earlier this week before officially signing a new contract. Smith told the club's official website: "A lot of things have changed and there are a lot of new faces, and the team's unrecognisable from when I came and a relatively new manager so fresh starts all round. "If you're coming out with 28 games [last season] you've put in a decent shift, so if I can get at least the same next year I'm going to be happy. "The target is to play every game, but sometimes that's not always possible with team selection and fitness, but I want to play every week the same as everybody else does." Smith has made 71 league starts for the Robins since joining from Crawley following a successful trial spell at the County Ground in July 2006.
