Robins win court appeal

Swindon's appeal against a winding-up petition has been successful. Former club advisor Michael Diamandis had served a writ on the club, claiming he was owed significant sums of money in relation to consultancy work undertaken between 2002 and 2008. The case was originally heard in the High Court, who found in favour of Diamandis, ordering the club to pay him £300,000. But Appeal Court judges found entirely in the club's favour on Monday. Swindon are expected to reclaim court costs from Diamandis, a statement on the club's website saying: "This his been a very time demanding and costly exercise. "Hopefully these are the final vestiges of the club's previous history of mismanagement."
