Robins on the rise

Swindon moved into fifth place in Coca-Cola League One following a 4-2 victory over struggling Oldham. The game took 44 minutes to burst into life when a piece of sheer quality by Robins striker Billy Paynter saw his 20-yard shot struck home superbly. Just one minute later in time added on at the end of the first half, Charlie Austin was adjudged to have been pushed over in the penalty area by Joe Jacobson and Paynter scored a second from the spot. The home side went further ahead three minutes after the break when Austin, who beat the offside trap, made the most of a Paynter flick-on to shoot low past Dean Brill. It was more bad news for the visitors when Danny Ward latched onto a through-ball in the 58th minute to hammer home for a 4-0 lead. The Latics, in contrast to their first-half display, created several chances which were squandered, although late on they pulled goals back through substitute Joe Colbeck - a neat 12-yard finish - and in the dying moments Swindon goalkeeper Phil Smith failed to collect a high cross and Jason Price headed home.
