Ritchie relief at Pompey survival

Swindon loanee Matt Ritchie has revealed he had an uncertain weekend with the news that parent club Portsmouth were close to going out of business. The 22-year-old has been on loan at Town for the past month but would have become a free agent had Pompey ceased trading - a situation that looked increasingly likely at one point. The midfielder told the Advertiser: "I've been seeing what's going on, but just had to take it as it came a day at a time. "Obviously I'm still paid by them, so it was a bit of a shock to hear that they could be going out of business, but we had a game as well so I just had to try and concentrate on Leyton Orient and let whatever was going to happen, happen. "I was in the same position as everyone else and didn't know what was going on. "The situation the club was in wasn't a good one, but the lads who are there (at Portsmouth) are a great bunch and they will have been concentrating on the football."
