McParland in at Swindon

Swindon have appointed the experienced Ian McParland as assistant manager to Paul Hart. Following Danny Wilson`s resignation on Wednesday evening, Hart was announced as the club`s new boss until the end of the season as Town look to drag themselves away from danger at the wrong end of League One. McParland has now been named as his right-hand man in the club`s battle for survival over the next 13 games, replacing Town number two Peter Shirtliff after he followed Wilson out of the door. The former Notts County boss most recently enjoyed a spell at Ipswich as caretaker manager, succeeding Roy Keane before Paul Jewell took charge at Portman Road. He also worked alongside Hart at Nottingham Forest earlier in his career.
