Midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern reckons Swindon's tough pre-season schedule is ideal preparation for the new campaign. A Vincent Pericard strike earned the Robins a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Al-Sadd on Wednesday night and Danny Wilson's men are now preparing to face 2.Bundesliga outfit Karlsruher on Friday. McGovern told the club's official website: "We've played a few good sides during pre-seasons in the past and it's always a good test of how far you've come as a side and I'm sure this year will be no different. "The games are a good way for the management to judge how fit we are as well and hopefully we won't be too far away from being ready. "For us it will feel like we've broken the back of pre-season once we've got the tour games under our belts and we'll all be looking forward to the start of the real season then."
