Gillingham behind Closed Doors

11 April 2012 22:57
The away trip to Gillingham on 21st April may have to be played behind Closed Doors.

Both sets of fans may be unable to watch the game as Medway Council has withdrawn it's support for the game in a row over the cost of Policing.

This is at least the second time this season Medway Council has withdrawn it support for Gillingham as they did the same for an FA Cup, which later went ahead as planned.

Swindon should already have been confirmed as promoted before the game, but are unlikely to be confirmed as Champions before the game, so a large Swindon following would be expected.

There has been a history going back over 30 years between the two clubs. The last time the sides played at Gillingham was nearly 3 years ago when Swindon lost 5-0 on the opening day of the 2009/10 season which had an early kick off.
