Bodin ready to challenge for starting place

Young Swindon striker Billy Bodin believes he can challenge for a regular place in the starting line-up following the club's relegation from npower League One. The Wales Under-21 international previously claimed that he would be looking to go out on loan next season in order to gain first-team experience, but has now reassessed his ambitions following the Robins' relegation and the fact father Paul Bodin, who has taken temporary charge, handed him his first start against Oldham on Saturday. "Now we have gone down I believe I can play at League Two level," Bodin told the Swindon Advertiser. "If I can keep playing next season that will be great but if not then I will obviously look to go out on loan. If that does not happen then I will keep trying to get into the first team." He added: "I watched Charlie Austin and Billy Paynter last year and I learnt a lot off them, so hopefully I can take that into the start of the next season."
